About FtunMed

Healthcare infrastructure, not hospital software

FtunMed is an AI-powered Healthcare Operating System — the connective tissue of a national health system. We digitize the relationships between institutions, not just the paperwork inside one building.

Our mission

To build the digital infrastructure that powers healthcare across Africa — connecting every participant in the health system so that care, data, and payment move as fast as they should.

Our vision

A future in which every patient in Africa has a single trusted health identity, every clinician has instant access to the information needed to make a safe decision, and every institution — hospital, pharmacy, lab, insurer, or ministry — operates on one interoperable, intelligent platform instead of a disconnected patchwork of software.

Why we exist

Ethiopia's healthcare system, like most of Africa's, runs on disconnected systems: paper charts, siloed hospital databases, manual insurance claims, and no shared patient identity. A patient who visits three facilities in a year effectively exists as three unrelated people. Referrals travel by phone call. Lab results travel by hand. This is not a gap a better EMR closes — it is an infrastructure gap. FtunMed's founding bet is that the company which builds the substrate first — identity, interoperability, payments, and AI — will become the default digital foundation for healthcare delivery across the continent.

What we stand for

  • Trust before scale

Patient data and clinical safety features are never compromised for speed of rollout.

  • Infrastructure, not features

Every product decision is judged by whether it strengthens the shared platform, not just one screen.

  • Designed for the real network

Built for intermittent connectivity, shared devices, and mixed literacy — not a copy of Western hospital software.

  • Interoperate by default

Open standards (FHIR/HL7) are the default integration path, not a premium add-on.

  • Local first, continental in ambition

Ethiopia is the proving ground; the architecture is designed for country-by-country expansion from day one.
